"atheism"
following my last post i have decided to expand on my complain and concern.
my biggest problem with all of this "atheism" crap is the presentation. presenting itself as a scientific answer to all that is imaginary and "silly" it is really just hiding the fact that it is just another religion, with a core belief system, disciples and teachers, a dogma, adapted symbolism, followers and a unified purpose.
while doing more digging on youtube because of the blasphemychallenge i found a few videos i would share. now please be aware that i feel these views as grossly skewed and delivered without a thought in the mind of the maker. i find these to be just another example of mindless religious jabber with the intent of recruiting more to a cause and bad mouthing those who do not agree.

to respond to this video in great depth would take far too long, but i will point out a few things.
in response to your concerns about holding office: why would we allow a person with no faith to hold a public office? sound stupid? well it is, but in a world where we must have faith in that which is out of our hands, we must also believe that the people in charge can have that same faith. why would we elect someone who would discount something just because they can't see it? this has nothing to do with "God" and has everything to do with humanity.
in response to your concerns over "in god we trust" possibly undermining our "not all christian" forefathers: i would like to point out that the men you name off as the great men who bred us were all slave owners. they saw it as an acceptable act to buy, sell, imprison, rape, beat and even kill humans who were classified as "property". today is not yesteryear and like all things that evolve a unified betterment has been put into place, under the watchful eye of those put into office by your peers. also there is nowhere that says "in the one god who all must bow down to or die, we trust" like so many things this country has done, this generic phrase, though most likely with one intention, can be accepted by all but the most slim number of people. perhaps we should also discuss the way your hero's obtained their places in the history books.
in response to your concerns over public education: when the "theory" of evolution is removed from schools as well, then and only then can any or all creation beliefs be removed. in all honesty, i would be happy with the removal of all creation theory. i say this because none of it is science, it is all theory. you may believe one is only because a small group of people believe it, but you have to admit that with all the evidence and study, still no one theory can stand as the absolute answer. creation is a mystery that will remain until the end of time.
in response to your concerns over legislation: your wording is laughable. "...not with rational thought, but with religious fervor..." i laugh because you say this with a belief that you are actually outside this influence. the fact that you are "preaching" makes that whole statement negate itself. the idea of what you might consider rational thought frightens me, since it is clear you can not even begin to understand your own self.
in response to your "religious activist" reasons: this is by far the dumbest thing in your video. you talk about how you are threatened by religion in your rights and country then use the tried and true blame game, religion did it. this makes me laugh, your rights and freedoms are not threatened by "religious" freaks from another country, maybe your life, but who cares? there is no hell.
now let me answer for you the question you keep asking. "why do i as an atheist care about religion?" the answer is simple, know your enemies. as a religious entity yourself you care because if you did not know the ins and outs of other churches you would have nothing to preach against.
atheism is a church and a religion as much as christianity, muslims, buddhists, catholics, mormons and the list goes on.
another video made me laugh even harder. the double talk and mindless ramblings of a man who does not listen to himself was laughable. more entertaining though were the comments made by those who watched it. so blinded are they by their new leaders vision that they lay the blame elsewhere.
here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcbTJgeJrw0
now i have to say, when you are being interviewed by fox news, there should be little room to make a fool of yourself. still this co-founder of a new church did just that.
as always let us start at the beginning.
i will ignore the opening video because that was put into place by fox news. this can not be held against brian flemming who is getting interviewed. he can only be held liable for his words and actions.
so skip the opening video and the first statements made by the loudmouth host. and get to the first question and response.
brian is accused of causing terror by brain washing people, he is then asked why he is doing it. his response is that if children are going to be indocreaind by religion then it is important to reach them know there is nothing to fear, "the crock that is christan doctrine" that is the true terror to our children.
this is a powerful statement made against one religious belief system.
then the loudmouth asks him if having people renounce god and the holy spirit is actually helping, his response, "absolutely" he then refers to religion as a terrany against young people. this time he refers to religion in general, no one church is the criminal.
so then he is asked "liberating form what? what is this terrany you speak about?" his response, he describes the core belief system of the branch of christan catholic churches, he calls that physiological torture.
so then loudmouth says, "well thats not what religion is about, religion is about love god, love your neighbour" then he is interrupted by brian who says in the background "well you have not read the bible" oops, another clear poke at one group of people. lets see where this goes.
at this point loudmouth says "i notice this is all against christans too" he then says he does not see the same actions against names like mohammad. brain quickly corrects him saying
that mohammad is actually mentioned a few times in videos. but those videos are the people renouncing religion, not you brian. lets look back shall we? he mentions the christian church 4 times plus one loose reference so that is 5, he mentions religion as a whole........1 time. oops seems he can't do math very well. he then proceeds to point out that his entire challenge is based on a passage from a christan book, the bible, right after saying that the challenge is aimed at all religion. what the fuck? did you just negate your own statement? who the hell does that? i mean the last time i saw something that stupid i was at church........er......wait watching this guy is just like being at church.
but there is more video, maybe he will redeem himself.
nope! after being bombarded by his host and rolling his eyes at him, his answer to why he is doing this is because "the kids are not being left alone" wait, what? so you're leaving them alone? no, you said you were freeing them by showing them the way. i am so confused! isn't that the same damn message i got in church? he then says that "your" religion is bothering him, that is why 'he is not staying neutral, not staying out of the fight' what fight? i thought you were a peaceful bringer of the truth. now it seems you are fighting for the truth, just like every other church goer. like every other preacher, like every other leader of a church.
so here you are. two videos from the same poster that proves that atheism is nothing more than a new religion.
now i have to admit, politically speaking i am all for separation of church and state and even a few of the other views the atheist church as i do many other churches. like any group of people a few good ideas pop out. however this is not a view of an atheist, the only true "atheist" view is that there is no god.
do you really think that an atheist came up with the idea of separation of church and state? if you do you need to study your history a bit more.
so to sum up the idea of this whole post i will simplify it, atheism is a religious view and nothing more. on top of that, these atheists are doing what they can to stop all religion (or so they say) this strange melding gives you a group of self hating self loathing self destroying people. now i don't know about you, but if i had to join a group or church, i might consider one with a slightly better opinion of itself.
now to save my friends who have once again been fooled by a flashy con man.
