Politics?
on the front cover today there was a blurb about a youtube video aimed against h clinton. my first thought was "hahahahaha" then i thought "it is about fucking time someone else said something about this."
i feel very smart now because this proves i am ahead of my own time. i have been complaining about and commenting about how politics are nothing more than a popularity contest any more any way.
so now that i am over myself i have to ask some tough questions. lets start from the begining.
1 - is Jack Bower real? - i would hope that most people would say no. i would hope that most people would say he is a work of fiction meant to entertain us and offer a touch of drama in our drab normal lives. what frightens me is that i am afraid that most people might say "he is fake, but i bet/think/am sure that there are people out there like him" i say this, well because i have heard it. if we watch what we know is absolute fiction, why must we conect it to reality?
2 - is CNN real? - i am sure most people would respond with a quick "Yes." however, how many times have i heard though that Fox or CNN give false news? it all depends on what you want to hear right? so how is it news? if i want a "conservitive" view what should i watch? . . . . . did you answer? then what ever you answered is not news, it is opinion. scary huh?
3 - has a political figure ever gone back on his/her word? - if you said no, well you are an idiot. but if you said yes, then i have an even harder question for you, how many lies before as a group we simply stop listening? when we have been "lied" to so often, what drives us to believe the next guy is honest?
4 - what is more important, the issues that matter or the issues that matter to me? you might say these are the smae thing, but they are not. in fact they are two very different things entirely. in all honesty few issues directly effect me. i am american born 30ish straigh male with no real religious belief system. since i can not be drafted, i can not have a child and can get married at will, well there is not a single issue i care about. oh wait a second, i meant the politicains don't TALK about the issues that matter to me. and you have to ask yourself, do they even talk about the issues that matter to you, or do you just think they do? seriously, think about it hard. do you care, or have you been told to care?
5 - what would you do if we had world peace and no person ever went hungry? now think about this one real hard before you answer. think about the total effect of such a thing. keep thinking. . . . . okay . . . . . .think so more . . . . . okay. . . . now answer. nope sorry you are wrong. what ever you thought you would do you were wrong. if such a thing happened you would be a mindless automation with no will of your own. the achievement of world peace and harmony would remove the need for money and so the desire to gain it would also be gone. then what? for thousands of years the poor have existed so that the rich may exist, so what happens when the poor are gone. and this works with war also. so think about it. my point is no politicain will ever make this happen, and any one who says they can or will, is lying right to your face.
whats the point is what you should be asking now, so i will tell you. the reality is that you don't know the truth and never will. people making "youtube" videos in support of or against any political figure is a perfect example of this. if a silly video on a free share web site can make front page news, then all hope for reality is lost.
it is time to seek out the reality of the situations and ask why those points are not addressed. it is not as hard as you think, the truth is out there to be found. in fact it is most likely clearly labeled with out concern, because it knows it has been forgotton and no one is looking for it.
the bigger point of this not convaluted post is this. no matter what the next few years bring, no one can go to a voting booth and make a decition and be 100 percent happy with it. the lies made by both sides of every situation will always cause doubt and concern. at this point we don't even decide on the issues anymore, but instead on the popularity contest that is little more than a beauty pagent.
i have forgotton where i was going and now i read back and am unhappy with what i wrote. but i hope that maybe some where in this mess of a thought something will spark a question in your mind. i hope that i have some how opened the yes of those who didnt realize they were shut.
people are not stupid for the most part. they have simply become comfortable in allowing others to think for them. and with that said, let me think for you, i promise you won't regret it.
